Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
